The eleventh team on the 2026 grid is also its boldest newcomer: Cadillac brings General Motors, one of the largest carmakers on earth, into Formula 1. Starting with Ferrari power while it develops its own future engine, the American project represents a serious, long-term commitment rather than a short-term experiment.

Crucially, Cadillac has chosen experience over youth to launch itself. Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas bring more than 400 grand prix starts and top-team know-how between them — exactly the steady hands a brand-new team needs to navigate the steep learning curve of a completely new rulebook. The debut of an American giant is one of the season's defining storylines.
